Welcome to The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Meetup Group of New York. The group was started in 2006, thanks to my Cavalier, Digby. Living in the city with Digby, I came across dog "meetup groups" & saw the need for a Cavalier King Charles, Group. We have quickly grown to 600+ members. Many great things can be gained from being in our group ie: new friends (both dogs & humans) finding new dog parks, celebrating birthdays & most importantly socializing Cavalier's. The reason for my starting this group-I am a stay at home mom with an 11 month old daughter and a 9 year old Chihuahua who is also like my baby. I have found since my daughter was born last May, I have spent a little less time with my fur baby. So my thought was to create a group where we can meet at a local park with our babies and dogs and go for walks/hikes as well as get to know other Moms with like interests.

… NJ Sneakers has a "No Dogs/No Kids" policy. I've found that dogs and kids tend to be problems on hikes as far as safety and distractions are concerned. There are other groups that cater to pet owners/parents so if this is a big issue for you, then NJ Sneakers is not the group for you. I don't believe in charging annual membership dues but I do charge for attending some select events. For example, the cost to attend our hikes is $3, not because I need the money, but that I've found when people …
